I know its been about two weeks but I'm just seeing this for the first time, I hope everything is ok and I'll be keeping you guys in my thoughts. I know how hard it is, I live in San Diego and we had to evacuate during the big fires this past fall. My thoughts are with everyone in the area!

I heard about that briefly on the news this morning and hoped it wasnt as bad as it looked, but I see that it was and is. You all are definitely in our prayers.

Hi Ladies,

Yesterday afternoon, a fire broke out on the grounds of Fort Carson. The fire damaged a military recreation camp and caused voluntary evacuations from some Fort Carson neighborhoods, ours included. The evacuation only applied to those with respiratory illnesses, but the smoke and ash was quite heavy near our house. I'm not sure the extent of damage at Turkey Creek yet, but a smaller town just south of Carson was devastated-including 2 deaths. A pilot for the US Forest Service also lost his life in a plane crashe en route to the fire. Turkey Creek has an excellent outdoor rec program for families of deployed soldiers and soldiers just returning from deployment. There are some private homes near there that were damaged as well.

All in all, it has been a pretty somber day near Fort Carson. My neighbor is really involved with the Officer's Spouses Club and I am working with her to try and gather supplies for the families in that small town. Please pray for the town of Ordway, the family of the pilot, and the people who lost their homes near Turkey Creek.
