Hi celise!

While I can't speak on AF pilots specifically, I can speak on living with a military guy to whom I'm not married. I chose to move with my fiance after he graduated OCS, and I can honestly say that it doesn't feel much different than it did before he was in the Navy. I mean, obviously his schedule is a lot different, but since he was still stationed CONUS, it was pretty easy for me to move with him...I drove out here with him, we live in an apartment off base, since we're in the U.S. I don't have to worry about work permits, etc. Honestly, I find this to be MUCH better than not going with him.

Hi,
I'm brand new to this...my boyfriend just was selected for a pilot slot in this last rated board; 10-01. We are just beginning this whole process but I figured I would start getting some information to kinda help out.

I completely understand that by being just a girlfriend, I don't get any benefits and don't really have any say in what happens over the next several years but I thought some of you who may have been or are in a similar situation. We're both 25 and are very serious about our relationship together and plan on being together for a long time- but just aren't ready to get married anytime soon.

I'm just curious to get some input or advice about what to expect the next few years and what to do after he finishes OTS... I meet a lot of AF pilots through my job and several of them have encouraged me to move with him after he finishes OTS to help make things easier. Any suggestions on this would be helpful...
Thanks so much for reading and I look forward to participating on this board!
